The installation aims to transform knowledge into a sensory experience, inviting visitors to engage directly with the ideas and intuitions that made Frederick II a central figure of early modernity. Through the integration of text, image, and sound, the narrative assumes an immersive and contemplative form, where every visual element conveys a thought and every sound fragment evokes a symbolic dimension of power.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Methodological Approach<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

The work is grounded in a dual line of research: historical and visual. Historical and iconographic research, based on primary sources such as the Liber Augustalis, contemporary miniatures, and Frederick\u2019s documents, enabled the construction of a narrative consistent with the cultural reality of the 13th century. In parallel, visual and technological research translated these contents into contemporary audiovisual language through high-definition video, 3D animation, AI-based image processing, and textures inspired by medieval illumination. This process produced a hybrid language, suspended between documentation and imagination, where technology becomes a poetic tool for historical inquiry.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Order of Knowledge examines the rise of the secular state and knowledge as the foundation of power. The Observed World presents the emperor as scientist and natural thinker. The Code and the Crown reflects on law as the highest form of harmony and justice. Jerusalem and the Language of Peace revisits the diplomatic crusade and the triumph of negotiation over conflict. The Thought in Stone evokes architecture as a metaphor of the mind and as a cosmological symbol of power. Projected within the immersive sequence, these texts contextualize the thematic area and guide visitors toward an immediate understanding of the visual and sonic content. They are not simple captions, but poetic and conceptual interventions designed to interact with the imagery and music, merging emotion and knowledge.\nA second projection surface displays deeper historical and philosophical explanations that elaborate the concepts of each chapter. These insights are presented bilingually, in Italian and English, to ensure international accessibility and reinforce the project\u2019s universal vocation. This structure balances suggestion and information, inviting visitors on a journey that evolves from aesthetic intuition to conscious reflection.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Technical and Artistic Solutions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

The installation employs a video-projection system and multichannel audio setup that envelop the viewer in a fully immersive environment. The imagery, pictorial and symbolic in character, alternates between abstraction and reconstructions inspired by 13th-century iconography. The color palette, dominated by gold, lapis lazuli, and natural pigments, recalls medieval miniature traditions reinterpreted through contemporary sensibilities. Thanks to its modular and conceptual structure, the project naturally lends itself to evolution, enriching itself over time while preserving its poetic strength and clarity of communication.
